PARTNERS IN THE GOSPEL
- An outside Christian organization works with local church leaders to provide discipleship training.
- Local churches cooperate with one another to carry out an evangelization event.
- A Christian non-government organization (NGO) assists a development project between a national denomination and an unreached people group.
These examples are just a few of the many ways in which different parts of the body of Christ cooperate to accomplish a common task far too big for any one part of the body. These are examples of partnership.
One expert defines partnership as: a complementary relationship driven by a common purpose and sustained by a willingness to learn and grow together in obedience to God. These manifestations of cooperation and unity are one of the best indicators that the church is alive and are examples to the world of diverse individuals and organizations coming together under Christ.
Prayer Points
- Pray for application of sound partnership principles so that dependency might be avoided.
- Pray that partnerships focusing on unreached people groups
would succeed and that local churches and foreign agencies would complement and respect one another.
- Pray also that they would model love and unity in diversity.
